About CubbleCubble is an online free service for Dutch and International students of HBO and University level. Currently in many cities of The Netherlands there are thousands of students. Young people that always want to know about events, things going on in their environment, student information, etc. Apparently there are loads of websites where information can be found at a simple Google click. Information like purchasing stuff to fill a new room, find a job or any other important matter for students. Unfortunately, all these websites and information are spread in one of the biggest spaces known: "the web space". There is not a web point where students and only students find information of a wide range of categories written and posted by other students. Categories that enclose topics of high importance for the student life such as getting a room, selling old books, parties, events, study groups, second hand stuff for their new room, etc. Cubble is that web point, in fact the solution for that need. Cubble is the student bubble. This free service is available to students before and during their higher education studies (HBO/WO). Students can register for free; they have a user account and a password that allows their access to the website. Users can personalize their account in their preferred language (Dutch or English), choose what kind of ads (updates posted by other students) they would like to see in their start page, if they want to receive weekly updates in their mailbox, choose ads from the region they live or from the whole country and make the kind of posts they receive as personalized or broad as they prefer. Cubble is innovative because it brings students together in a private and exclusive community that just encloses them. They have the possibility to look for people with the same study interests, start study groups in their own environment, find a room that someone else is just leaving, exchange, lend and/or sell books, raise funds, ask for advice, look for help in any language from fellow students they would not imagine that could help them, sell their old furniture, hire their room while they are in their exchange semester, find someone to sport at the local sport centre together, create events for students with the same interests inside their community. Everything can be personalized, what to post and what to receive. For example if student A needs book X. He will probably not be asking students of last year that he does not know if they have it for him. Student B will see that student A needs this book in his Cubble start page and he will sell it or rent it to student A. Probably student A never imagined that student B had it, even if they were fellow students. |
